FuRRR Feline Rescue carefully screens all applicants to ensure our cats and kittens are placed in the best possible homes—for the well-being of both the family and the animal. We aim to make the process flexible, friendly, and thorough so that every match leads to a long, happy life together.

Requires all fields to be completed or it will NOT be processed
Requires applicants to be at least 21 years of age
📩 Important: After submitting your application, check your Junk/Spam folder if you haven’t received a response by the next day. Emails come from adoption@furrr.org.
Kittens younger than a year old must go home with another playful kitty, unless there is already a playful kitty in the home. Many arrive as bonded siblings or buddies, and we do not separate them. We ask that you read the article about why kitten pairing is essential for their development and well-being.
If you currently have pets or have had pets in the last 5–6 years:
If permission is not granted, your application will NOT be processed.
All current or previous pets must:
Be spayed/neutered
Have a history of veterinary care and vaccinations
After submitting your application:
Renters:
A parent must send written permission to adoption@furrr.org.
Once all steps above are completed and approved:
Please notify us as soon as possible if you cannot attend. Volunteers often make a special trip to the rescue for your appointment.
We do NOT place cats on a first-come, first-served basis.
Final adoption approval is determined after the meet and greet.
All cats and kittens must:
Receive a final veterinary exam
Obtain a health certificate for adoption
This may take a few days depending on the timing of your visit.
🗓 Vet appointments are every Thursday afternoon, and slots fill quickly. A meet and greet does not guarantee immediate availability of a vet appointment.
All adoptions take place at the rescue in Gonic, NH, not at retail stores (per NH State law).
You must bring a carrier to take your cat home.
Hard-sided carriers are preferred.
Standard 24″ size is recommended for an adult cat or two small kittens.
Without a proper carrier, you will not be permitted to bring your cat home.
Required to verify residence.
Must be presented at the meet and greet or upon pickup.
