
About FuRRR Feline Rescue
FuRRR Feline Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run, nonprofit cat rescue dedicated to saving at-risk cats, providing medical care, and placing them into loving homes throughout New Hampshire and surrounding areas. As our intake and medical costs continue to grow, grant funding is critical to sustaining and expanding our life-saving work.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to help identify, research, and apply for funding opportunities that support our rescue operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys research, storytelling, and impact-driven writing. The position is flexible and can be performed remotely. There’s no pay for this position as with all FuRRR Feline Rescue volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Research local, state, and national grant opportunities relevant to animal welfare and nonprofit rescues
Prepare and submit grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and required documentation
Collaborate with board members to gather program details, budgets, statistics, and impact metrics
Track grant deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
Maintain basic records of applications and outcomes
Qualifications
Experience with grant writing or nonprofit fundraising preferred
Strong written communication and research skills
Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
Familiarity with animal welfare organizations is a plus
Time Commitment
Flexible schedule
Estimated 2–6 hours per week, depending on availability and grant cycles
